Happy Monday!

One morning a good while back, after a particularly bad couple of weeks, I was chatting with a friend and I remember saying something about how hard it was to snap out of the funk I had found myself in.

He told me that he used to get like that too and something that helped him was listening to motivational videos, inspirational speeches, other peoples rags to riches stories in those 10 minutes after he had hit the snooze button in the mornings, and he found that his ‘funks’ were occurring less and less.

Desperate and willing to try anything, I started doing it too.

At first it felt kinda weird. The background music, the intense tones, the repetition of cheesy positive affirmations – I was embarrassed when someone walked into the room and I had to explain that I was getting in my daily dose of motivation – but it helped!

Now, I love the music for it’s ability to build that feeling of excitement about starting the day, I love the repeated positive affirmations – they stay stuck in my head and when the day starts to get a little grey, it’s not the voices of defeat that start yelling, it’s the way over the top motivational speakers yelling louder than those little defeatists, reminding me that I’m pretty great and my pretty great-ness can get me through just about anything. And I keep going – even when it’s tough.

So, when I felt like I was ready to start blogging again, I decided I wanted to start the weeks by sharing the videos or the quotes that I’d found that had really made a difference to me. Because maybe they’ll be just what someone else needs too.

It feels strange to sit down and complete a whole post in 5 minutes or less because it’s just sharing someone else’s motivating words! But, it was a tip that changed so much for me and sometimes we need someone elses wise words to give us the shake up we need to start the week on a different note and our brains the cheers to pull us back up when the funk tries to settle back in.

So, I hope you enjoy my version of Motivational Mondays. I’m really looking forward to this series!

For our very first, an inspirational speaker Lisa Nichols on letting your light shine bright!

I’m a little too guilty of letting other peoples thoughts/actions/opinions consume me and influence how I feel and the choices I make. This was a timely reminder that the only opinion that matters is mine, and my journey forward is the only road I should be looking down and that we can all be anything we want to be – no matter what anyone else might think or have to say about it!

Have a great week!With Love
